“We worship what is” was the answer to the question, “What do you worship?”. The person said he was a member of the Unity–Unitarian Church. The radio host asked the caller, “What does that mean?” His answer was essentially a paraphrase of a couple of the 7 principles affirmed and promoted by the UUA. They are listed below:

· The inherent worth and dignity of every person;

· Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;

· Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;

· A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;

· The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;

· The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;

· Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.

At first glance these might seem harmless, but when you dig a little deeper you will see how Satan must really be delighted with the people who make up this denomination. Note the following copied from their web site:

Unitarian Universalism is a theologically diverse religion in which members support one another in our individual search for truth and meaning. We have historic roots in the Jewish and Christian traditions, but today individual Unitarian Universalists may identify with Atheism, Agnosticism, Buddhism, Humanism, Paganism, or with other philosophical or religious traditions. Interfaith families often find that Unitarian Universalist congregations are a good fit for them.

How about that? Just believe anything you want to believe and join their cozy little “good fit” club. The caller bragged about being an atheist since 1965. But that’s obviously no big deal since all are welcome in their church. Clearly, this denomination is nothing more than humanism gone to seed in the name of religion.

Most people reading this article quickly recognize the absurdity of the UUA system. But what we may be overlooking is the mindset that leads one along the pathway to that end. Essentially, it is rooted in an effort to make man God. Man’s worth and well-being is paramount. That nonsense about searching for “truth and meaning” is baloney. If truth resides in the mind of men (God is out of their picture) then one man’s idea of truth is just as good as another’s. But isn’t that how digression from God’s word takes place?

When men start substituting their ways and thoughts for God’s, they are on the same road as the Universalist. Don’t even think about going there. Stay on the path defined by a “thus saith the Lord”. We are here to worship and serve Him, not ourselves.  KD
