About the time I think our nation’s level of imbecility has reached bottom, the bar get’s lowered one more notch. Once again California can lay claim to contributing to this downward spiral. The LA unified school district jumped on the bandwagon of insane policies. No longer can students be suspended for defying a teacher’s directive to stop disruptive behavior. Only the most egregious acts will warrant suspension. One wonders who is going to draw that line and how low it will go before some level of sanity returns, or is that even a remote possibility?

The current trend does not bode well for the future. Remember, its this mindset which has opened the floodgates of immorality giving us legalized abortion, cesspool entertainment, the gay rights movement, etc. There seems to be no end in sight, and the farther down this road we go the worse it will get.

Does this mean we are on the verge of self-destruction as a nation? Well, I do not know the time table, but I do know where this road leads. The Bible clearly chronicles the divine punishment of those who chose the course of ungodliness and unrighteousness (Rom. 1:18 ff). Be assured, God has not changed His attitude toward rebellious behavior.

Men may continue passing laws that encourage and reward irresponsibility. The ACLU led teams of attorneys in the Justice Department can keep suing school districts where a few sensible holdouts still believe in individual accountability, but they cannot prevent God from enforcing His laws!

The reward, or payment, for sinful behavior has been set by divine decree. Paul wrote in Romans 6:23 - “the wages of sin is death”. There is absolutely no hint of equivocation in his words. To cite this truth really galls the modernist. After all, these 21st century geniuses have already removed God from the picture. To them, morality, personal accountability and responsibility are all dinosaurs that have been replaced by one beautiful animal - the ME minded person.

ME people are outraged when told they must adhere to a standard of behavior. Submission to authority for the common good of their fellowman is abhorrent behavior. They have been brainwashed by modernism’s never ending drum beat championed by human rights activists. They are blind to the only human right that matters - the right to choose between God and the devil. Irresponsibility’s here and now rewards appeal to many, but isn’t the reward of Heaven a better choice? If so, choose the Lord and live!  KD
